A native of Detroit, Michigan, Christian is currently studying Architecture at Hampton University, where he is in his 5th Year of Hampton University's Master's of Architecture Program.

At the age of six, Christian began to investigate the wonders of Architecture after meeting the husband of his mother's nail technician. Since an early age, Christian has been a skilled illustrator. This talent furthered his interest in the profession of Architecture and is one that he still sharpens daily. In addition to that, Christian spent most of his childhood and early teenage years under the insightful influence of his grandfather, the late James K. Hughes, who instilled in him the mechanics of building construction and a desire to learn more about it.

Educated in the Detroit Public Schools System, Christian was able to explore his interest in Architecture and its related components through various art and engineering programs. These programs include curricular activities as well as extra-curricular programs such as Accelerated Math, DAPCEP (Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program), Project SEED, Studio Detroit: High School, and art-immersion programs with Detroit's Center for Creative Studies. His mother, Gloria J. Hughes, was essential to this exploration, for she remained keenly aware of Christian's interests and guided him in the direction that would help him realize these interests.
